Managing Perceived Threat When Dealing With An Officer Of The Law

An Aggressive, disrespectful and  defiant attitude is perceived by law enforcement as a possible threat.

Its is the same for an individual if  law enforcement is presented in this way.

In todays culture youth are taught to be aggressive, disrespectful and defiant towards all authority.

Youth are taught to perceive law enforcement as an automatic threat.

Police on the other hand are taught to defend against a perceived threat when presented with a youth etc who displays an aggressive, disrespectful or defiant attitude when dealing with the public.

The answer to hate groups who support rioting, looting and killing police because of media bias toward law enforcement is informing the public about misconceptions in dealing with law enforcement situations.

First listen to THIS short radio interview with Brandon Mcconnell a former law officer.

Managing your own perceived threat is the key to understanding how your are perceived by law enforcement.

An Aggressive, disrespectful and  defiant attitude is perceived by law enforcement as a possible threat.

Todays youth don't understand the  consequences and the way threats are perceived by law enforcement.

People also don't understand the ways things can turn bad in a police interaction.

Knowing that your own personal perception of law enforcement that presents an automatic threat to police  could cause a situation to go bad is knowing how to deal with law enforcement properly and SAFELY!

The constant drumbeat of the media has given society today an incorrect assumption that all police or law enforcement are a potential threat.

The "black lives matter" group uses this misconception to prey on the public for the sole purpose of fundraising for a  unrelated agendas also.

Propaganda is communication that is used primarily to influence an audience and further an agenda.

"black lives matter" propaganda is selectively used to encourage a particular synthesis or perception,  using loaded language to produce an emotional rather than a rational response to the information that is presented.

A rational response to emotional language and propaganda is presented in THIS short radio interview with Brandon Mcconnell a former law officer.

The answer to the slogan of  "black lives matter" rhetoric of racebaiting and deception is a rational response to their misinformation.

BadgeWise is a FREE training program developed by an ex-cop who wants to teach you how to stay safe when dealing with an officer.

We are failing our society by not teaching our citizens how to deal with the police. BadgeWise is all about how to manage your perceived threat to law enforcement because the more actual threats there are to the police, the more innocent actions will be seen as a threat.

Be sure to watch all 13 short videos so you can have a better understanding of the officers in your community and how to stay safe. At the end you will know the 7 things everyone needs to know about the police as well as 4 simple tips you can use to virtually eliminate the likelihood of being on the wrong end of a use of force.

Visit BadgeWise Free Citizen Training 1/13: Introduction    for more information on law enforcement issues and how to stay safe when dealing with the police.

The BadgeWise online academy is a free training product developed by me, an ex-cop who wants to teach you how to stay safe when dealing with an officer.

Hello and Welcome to BadgeWise’s online training program. My name is Brandon McConnell and I want to thank you for being here. I’m an ex-cop who worked in one of the highest-crime areas in the Southeast and I want to solve a problem.

This is a problem that disproportionately affects you and your peers as young adults.

You see, the police are a fact of life but it is becoming increasingly obvious our high school and college aged people are not adequately equipped to deal with them safely.

This is one of the greatest failures of our society in the 21st century.

Working as an officer I realized there is a growing divide between the expectations of society and the standard operating procedures of modern law enforcement.

We are going to start to close that divide here today, but before we begin I want to make one thing clear. This program is not going to be some ex-cop telling you not to think for yourself or that your only role in all of this is to simply do what you are told.

I want you to consider the information being presented and draw your own conclusions. I’m not here to change anyone’s opinion of the police. What I am here to do is share facts and information that will save lives.

Police officers are thoroughly trained on how to stay safe when dealing with citizens and it wasn’t until I got out of law enforcement that I realized there is no such training for citizens on how to safely deal with an officer.

What we are going to do with BadgeWise is take the countless hours of training I received and turn it around for you.

Once you see behind the curtain and understand how the police think and operate, you will be much safer the next time you get pulled over or are otherwise approached by an officer.

I want to put you in my boots as a COP so you have a better understanding of how threats are perceived, and how you can adapt your actions to stay safe.

This will be done by exposing you to 2 distinct blocks of instruction.

Block 1 is all about how the police are trained. This is where you will learn 7 things I didn’t know about officers until I was one. More importantly we are going to unpack each of these issues to reveal how they affect all of us when we are dealing with the police.

Block 2 is where we will cover the harmless actions people take every day that could be perceived as a threat by officers.

Put bluntly, this block covers the things that YOU can do differently to dictate how your interactions with the police turn out.

I’m the type of person who has always needed a reason to do what I am told. If you can relate to that sentiment, block one will give you the reason and block two will give you the “what to do” of it all.

Our focus throughout the entirety of this material will be on how to prevent being perceived as a threat to Law Enforcement.

That is because whether you are a genuine threat, or are merely perceived as a threat makes no difference.

An officer’s response will be the same for either.

Police and community relations are as bad now as they have ever been.

Things are escalating on both sides and the sad truth is this: the more actual threats there are, the more perceived threats there will be.

Let’s get started; I’ll see you in the next video.
