Summary:

Exposure to levels of radon gas typically found in 90 percent of American homes appears to reduce the risk of developing lung cancer by as much as 60 percent, according to a new study. The finding differs significantly from results of previous case-control studies of the effects of low-level radon exposure, which have detected a slightly elevated lung cancer risk (but without statistical significance) or no risk at all.

The following information has been derived from a variety of physics, chemistry and geology textbooks:

1. Geologists use a process called “radiometric dating” in order to establish the age of rocks

2. In this process, the amount of Uranium 238 is compared to the amount of Lead 206

3. Since the 14-step decay process takes a known amount of time for the uranium to disintegrate to Lead 206, younger rocks will have more uranium while older rocks will have more lead

4. This process PRESUMES that the entire decay process takes place within the rock and that NONE OF THE DECAY PRODUCTS (INCLUDING RADON) is able to escape.

( Note: It is possible that a small amount of radon is able to leave the rock matrix if it is formed very near the surface of the rock or if the rock is very finely pulverized. If a significant amount were to routinely escape, the uranium dating method would be useless.)

The above information leads to the following inescapable conclusions: Under laboratory conditions, extremely small amounts of radon are produced and collected (It is not likely that these results are indicative of what occurs in the field because the laboratory sample is pure, refined radium while the field variety is trapped in rock matrices and widely distributed throughout non-uniform conditions).

If the entire daily production from one gram of radium were uniformly distributed over an area one-mile square and 8 to 10 feet high, the amount per unit of air would be extraordinarily small. Since most of the radon produced in rocks and soils is likely to stay there to become Lead 206, the amount available for distribution is so small that it approximates zero.

On the other hand, data obtained from Radium in natural sources in an article titled “Radioactivity in Nature” under the heading “Food” it is discovered that Brazil Nuts contain from 1,000 to 7000 pico curies per kilogram (pCi/kg) or 2.2 lbs.* There are approximately 120 nuts in a kilogram so each nut contains from 8.33 to 58.33 pCi of radium. Compare this to the 4 pCi/liter safety limit established by the EPA for radon in room air. Radium is far more dangerous because it will replace calcium in bone structures and irradiate the marrow -- a known cause of leukemia.

(Did ya get that? If ya got about 2 pounds of brazil nuts you could have up to 14 times the safe level of radon the EPA has established as safe. Just think about that. All it would take is a bag of brazil nuts under your house to cost you about $1200.00 to get rid of a problem that doesn't exist. A scam for sure.)

Ask you friendly neighborhood radon buster about brazil nuts. Also make real sure he doesn't eat them as a snack while "radon busting" under the floor of your house.

2 lbs of brazil nuts = 32 oz of brazil nuts. So if you eat just one brazil nut you have consumed more than the EPA safety level of room air in your house.

You say breathing radioactive air and eating radioactive brazil nuts is not the same.

Radon gas is a by product of radium.

If you eat for instance 2lbs of brazil nuts in a week you have consumed possibly 8.33-58.33 pCi of radium.

This is approximately 14 times the safe level of radon the EPA has established as safe.

Radium is radioactive and so is radon gas.

So it would seem either way if you eat brazil nuts which contain radium or breath air that contains radon gas your going be exposed to radioactivity.

My point is if you can eat brazil nuts which contain 14 times what the EPA says is safe and the EPA doesn't tell you NOT to eat brazil nuts but does warn you about radon gas and brazil nuts give you a MUCH bigger dose of radioactivity there is a problem in relying on what the EPA is telling you about radon gas.

If you want to get the radon busters out to your house go ahead.

If you want to stop eating brazil nuts go ahead.

I think brazil nuts are safe to eat. I'm also not calling the radon busters out to my house unless they bring a pound or two of brazil nuts to eat. :)

Documents describing Hillary Clinton's role in the death of White House counsel Vince Foster have vanished from the National Archives.

Two former FBI agents involved in the investigation said they issued reports linking Hillary's tirade to Foster's suicide.

Hillary's denunciation of Foster in front of White House aides is consistent with her treatment of the Secret Service agents who protect her. WHSV-TV reported Thursday Sadie Elledge, 18, served a man and a woman two gyros, sodas and a Greek salad at Jess’ Lunch in Harrisonburg. Elledge said that she felt uncomfortable serving the pair because they wouldn’t talk to her and only would “nod their heads.”

The woman signed the receipt and didn’t leave a tip, which the station reported isn’t uncommon for the restaurant workers. However, what she wrote in the tip spot is what has caused an uproar.

The receipt read: “We only tip citizens.”

Others employ electronic voting machines that produce no paper trail, therefore there is nothing to count or recount and no way to ensure that what a voter intended is what was recorded and transmitted.

Some systems produce a paper ballot of record, but that paper is kept only for a recount; votes are recorded by a machine such as an optical scanner and then stored as electronic digits. The counting of the paper ballots of record is exceedingly rare and is almost never done for verification in the absence of a recount demand.

The verification systems in place in most states can check only two things well.

First, they can provide a basis for comparing the number of people who showed up and were allowed to vote at a location with the voter total reported at the end of the day by that precinct. Thats the piece of paper you many see posted on the door where you vote.


Second, they can compare the total votes for a candidate reported by each precinct to the state capital against the number that the capital says it received from each location.

The ways to hack the election are straightforward and are like the computer system attacks that you hear about every day in the private sector and on government networks in the U.S. and elsewhere. Malware can be implanted on voting machines. Almost none of these machines have any kind of malware detection software like those used at major corporations and government agencies. Even if they did, many of those cybersecurity tools are regularly defeated by today’s sophisticated hackers.

It could happen. There is nothing to stop it from happening in many parts of the country, and there is not even an effort to see if it is happening.

Two black teenagers accused of killing a good Samaritan


Two teenagers are accused of fatally shooting a man who stopped to help them get a vehicle out of a ditch late Monday in North Charleston.

The Charleston County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Chadwick Garrett, a 45-year-old North Charleston resident. He died around 11:35 p.m. at the scene near Durant Avenue and North Jimtown Drive.

Deon Antonio Frasier, 17, and Michael Odell Anthony Dupree-Tyler, 19 — both of the Reserve at Ashley River Apartments, 6520 Dorchester Road — face murder charges in connection with the shooting. Frasier is also charged with possession of a firearm during a violent crime.

A magistrate judge could not set bail on the charges at a bond hearing Tuesday night.

Arrest affidavits state that around 11 p.m. Monday, Garrett agreed to help the teens pull a 2016 Dodge Durango out of a ditch for $20. A witness, who is not named in the documents, told North Charleston police that after he removed the vehicle from the ditch and inquired about the money owed, Frasier pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots.

There was another incident in this state that was similar. A man picked up a person walking along the road that needed a ride. He gave him a ride then was murdered for no reason.

In SC you can carry a concealed weapon. I think this is important to do.

Paisano’s owner Rick Camuglia said he emblazoned the phrase on the restaurant's main sign to sell a new recipe: a tuna dish with black olive tapenade.

Camuglia posted pictures of the dish and the sign on Facebook, drawing complaints he was being insensitive and trivializing a movement aimed at trying to stop police shootings of black residents.

Camuglia insisted he was not trying to stir racial tensions and was only trying to sell food.

He said that people from all over the world has called his restaurant to show him support.

He said that he put the slogan on hats and T-shirts because people who supported the restaurant wanted to by a souvenir of sorts from the restaurant.

Camuglia also told the station that business is booming.

Christian NFL player Benjamin Watson has opened up about his views on abortion and how it factors into race relations in America today.

In an hour-long interview for the San Diego-based Turning Point Pregnancy Resource Center's blog interview series, Watson, a devout Christian who often speaks out publicly on a wide range of racial and political issues, answered questions on whether race plays into the abortion debate, whether men should have any say over whether women get an abortion, and why he is pro-life.

In the second part of the interview, Watson gave great detail on how race factors into the issue of abortion. He pointed out that the abortion agenda seems to be focused primarily on minorities and how the nation's largest abortion business was founded by Margaret Sanger, who has often been accused of being a racist and a eugenicist.

"I do know that blacks kind of represent a large portion of the abortions, and I do know that honestly the whole idea with Planned Parenthood and Sanger in the past was to exterminate blacks, and it's kind of ironic that it's working," Watson said. "We [as minorities] support candidates, and overwhelmingly support the idea of having Planned Parenthood and the like, and yet, that is why she created it."

"We are buying it hook, line, and sinker, like it's a great thing. It's just amazing to me and abortion saddens me, period. But it seems to be something that is really pushed on minorities and provided to minorities especially as something that they should do," Watson asserted. "In the public, it seems to be painted that when minorities get pregnant they need to get abortions, especially when it comes to teen pregnancy.

"We sit here and talk about advancing the black agenda, whatever that means, we talk about our interests, and what's important to us — like having political power and advancement and all those things — and then we are turning around and we are killing our children," Watson said. "And we are buying the lie that it's our personal decision to make."

"[A] lot of the women wouldn't be having abortions if the men would step up and be a part of what they are already biologically a part of. Raising children and having children, even though the women birthed the child, is designed for two people to do it," Watson stated. "And there is so much undue stress and pressure on the woman if the other one isn't there."

Watson argued that a fault in the process is that many men would rather have abortion be a "women's issue" so that they don't have to "step up and make a decision."

"Any idea that a man doesn't have a role in it is not true, and is simply more about politics and making a man's life easier," Watson stressed. "If you are going to say, 'It's your choice' and she decides on an abortion, then at least be man enough to go with her through the entire process. You should have to sit with her through the entire procedure (and recovery) if you are going to go that route."

Watson, a 12-year veteran tight end who is beginning a new chapter in his career this season with the Baltimore Ravens, recalled a time where he has had to talk to a one of his NFL teammates whose girlfriends was facing an unplanned pregnancy.

"His girlfriend was pregnant and he had that look like, 'I don't know what to do' and I know that abortion may have very well been a possibility, although we didn't discuss it specifically," Watson explained. "My whole speech to him was encouraging him about what an awesome opportunity it is to raise a child, to give the child a home, to love that child, and that God entrusted him with another life, and what a responsibility and the privilege that is."
