Worker's comp for pole dancer?

Hey if you hurt your neck while swinging on a pole at work you should be covered, (pun). Could have got boobie whip lash which would be much worse. :)

INDIANAPOLIS - An Indiana appeals court upheld a worker's compensation award Tuesday for an exotic dancer who was injured while performing on a pole at a strip club.

The Indiana Court of Appeals ruled in favor of Angela Hobson and ordered the state Worker's Compensation Board to determine if she was entitled to double compensation.

Hobson claimed she suffered neck pain and numbness after injuring herself while dancing at the Shangri-La West club in Fort Wayne on Dec. 20, 2001. She underwent surgery for a herniated disc in her cervical spine, according to court records.

Hobson said she reported her injury to her employers, but they later denied knowledge of the injury.

In 2006, the compensation board awarded her temporary total disability benefits and other compensation totaling more than $10,000 and found that Shangri-La did not have a worker's compensation policy and was not approved as a self-insurer.

Shangri-La appealed, arguing that the board erred when it found Hobson more credible than its witnesses. But the court declined to reweigh the evidence and upheld the original award, adding a 5 percent increase due to the passage of time.

The court also instructed the board to determine whether Hobson was entitled to double compensation due in part to the allegation that Shangri-La violated state law by not having worker's compensation insurance.

Dino Zurzolo, who owned the club at the time, said the lack of worker's compensation insurance at the time was a temporary oversight due to a missed payment.

A phone message left late Tuesday for attorney Samuel Bolinger, who represents Wholesalers Inc., the company that does business as Shangri-La, was not immediately returned.

Example of an idiot being an idiot.

Liberal liers try to spin limbaugh's comments again

Harry reed and the boys are liers. Again they have taken a talk show host out of context. The real cowards are the democratic left including reed, pelosi, harkin, kennedy, hillery clinton etc etc. At least 56 bills or resolutions to pull the troops out or cut their funds. These democrats listed are truly traitors and should be charged with treason. Rush Limbaugh should be given a medal for telling the truth about the liberal liers and their lies. The real threat are the liberals and their socialist agenda. Liberals will tax and spend your last dime. All they want is power. Sick bastards.

WASHINGTON — Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh stepped up his criticism of Democratic lawmakers Tuesday, saying efforts by Democrats in Congress to target him are merely diversions meant to distract supporters from their failed efforts to get out of Iraq.

In an attack that began with the first words of the show and continued throughout his daily three-hour broadcast Tuesday, Limbaugh compared Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, claimed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is using a liberal media watchdog to suppress her opposition and said he feels sorry for Sen. Tom Harkin's family for having to be associated with the Iowa Democrat's statements on the Senate floor a day earlier.

He then said the attacks aren't really about him personally.

"It's about them and they are desperately trying to salvage themselves with their own lunatic fringe base who they are not only disappointing but they are deceiving because the dirty, little secret, as I also predicted, was that if the Democrats win the White House in '08 they are not pulling out of Iraq. All the top tier Democrats have said so," Limbaugh told his audience.

"Time to distract those peasants with pitchforks out there who are fit to be tied over being betrayed by Harry Reid, (House Speaker) Nancy Pelosi and the rest of the Democrats," he said.

The conservative talk radio host was fighting back after Democratic lawmakers in the House and Senate lambasted him over remarks he made last week suggesting veterans who oppose the Iraq war are "phony soldiers."

In the House, Rep. Mark Udall, D-Colo., who is running for the open Senate seat in his state, has authored a resolution condemning the host. Democratic Majority Leader Steny Hoyer has not decided whether or not he'll bring it up for a vote, his staff told FOX News.

On Tuesday, Hoyer tried to draw comparisons between the Limbaugh attack and GOP efforts last week to condemn ads by MoveOn.org that suggested Gen. David Petraeus, head of Multinational Forces in Iraq, had betrayed the United States by giving Congress a semi-positive report on the result of the troop surge there.

"What's good for the goose is good for the gander," Hoyer said, adding that everyone should try to show "restraint from condemning all that we disagree with."

Senate Democrats say they plan no similar resolution of to Udall's because, as one Senate Democratic leadership aide said, to do so would only give Limbaugh "the kind of attention he craves."

But a letter to Mark Mays, president of Clear Channel, the parent company of Limbaugh's broadcast, was signed by 41 Democrats. It called on the network "to publicly repudiate these comments that call into question ('antiwar soldiers') service and sacrifice, and ask Mr. Limbaugh to apologize for his comments."

"Rush Limbaugh took it upon himself to attack the courage and character of those fighting and dying for him and for all of us. Rush Limbaugh got himself a deferment from serving when he was a young man. He never served in uniform. He never saw in person the extreme difficulty of maintaining peace in a foreign country engaged in a civil war. He never saw a person in combat. Yet, that he thinks his opinion on the war is worth more than those who have been on the front lines," Reid said.

"Rush Limbaugh owes the men and women of our armed forces an apology," he said.

Harkin followed Reid, saying: "Maybe he was just high on his drugs. I don't know." In 2003, Limbaugh admitted a dependency on pain medication, but three years later reached a plea deal that cleared him of prescription shopping for Oxycontin.

"I feel like apologizing for his family for what he said yesterday," Limbaugh said of Harkin. "Such a demeaning thing he did and so below the decorum and stature of (a member) in the United States Senate.

"It's unconscionable what Sen. Reid and Sen. Harkin and these other Democrats are doing. And again I want to apologize today to all of you in the United States military — active duty and retired — for this smear. I am not apologizing for myself. I am apologizing for Media Matters.org, for Hillary Clinton, for Harry Reid. I am apologizing for all of these groups that are undertaking efforts to demoralize you. ... I want to apologize to you on their behalf for this storm having been created out of thin air out of a total lie."

Limbaugh has vehemently denied a wholesale attack on antiwar servicemen and women. A literal reading of the Sept. 26 show in question shows that the controversial host did not in fact say that soldiers opposing the war are "phony," but his remarks have left confusion as to whom he is referring when he used the phrase.

The offense came up when a caller named Mike, who said he is currently serving in the Army, described his anger about talk of a pull-out from Iraq. Limbaugh readily agrees, according to the recorded exchange:

CALLER 2 (Mike): ...What's really funny is, they never talk to real soldiers. They like to pull these soldiers that come up out of the blue and talk to the media.

LIMBAUGH: The phony soldiers.

CALLER 2: The phony soldiers. If you talk to a real soldier, they are proud to serve. They want to be over in Iraq. They understand their sacrifice, and they're willing to sacrifice for their country.

Limbaugh has since said on his show that he was referring only to one soldier: disgraced, convicted former Army soldier-turned-antiwar-activist Jesse Macbeth. Macbeth falsely claimed to have participated in war crimes in Iraq and received a Purple Heart, but in reality, he was discharged after only 44 days of service, never placing a foot in Iraq.

Macbeth was sentenced to five months in prison for fraudulently collecting more than $10,000 in benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs.

The problem with the exchange, say critics, is that Limbaugh refers to multiple "soldiers." He gets to a conversation about Macbeth about two minutes after referring to "phony soldiers." In subsequent radio shows, Limbaugh attempted to clarify his position, but muddied the waters by editing out a portion of it, prompting outrage from the liberal media watchdog Media Matters, which has been driving this latest controversy.

In edited form, the discussion of Macbeth comes much more quickly after the reference to "phony soldiers."

On Tuesday, Limbaugh returned to Macbeth, noting that the convicted soldier's false accounts were merely the latest in a string of reports that Limbaugh has covered on his show.

"This is a willful and purposeful missing of the context of this program," Limbaugh said of arguments regarding his use of the plural to describe the Macbeth story. "We have discussed many of these phony soldiers over the course of the last few months. We discuss them constantly. Macbeth was just the latest."

He then quoted a Sept. 21 release from the U.S. Attorneys Office from the Western District of Washington state referring to eight "phony vets" who had scammed more than $1.4 million by lying about their military service for financial gain.

Smelley and Succop

Football usually does not excite me at all. But I have to admit after turning the radio on in the last of the third quarter I had to find out what would happen next. When a team keeps doing something right, ya kind of want to be a part of what is going on. When there on a roll it just makes ya feel good even though I could care less most of the time about any football. Go smelly, go suckup, I won't hold your names against ya.
Smelly Suckup could be somebody who is ( ), you fill in the blank, ya think?

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Freshman Chris Smelley threw for a career-best 279 yards and two touchdowns to lead No. 16 South Carolina to a 38-21 victory over Mississippi State on Saturday.

Smelley was given the starting job by coach Steve Spurrier before the Gamecocks (4-1, 2-1 Southeastern Conference) left the locker room at LSU’s Death Valley last week after a 28-16 loss.

And Smelley’s play made Spurrier look like a genius — again.

Smelley, who replaced fifth-year senior Blake Mitchell, connected with receiver Kenny McKinley on touchdown passes of 20 and 27 yards, the latter which put South Carolina ahead for good, 24-21, with 3:43 left in the third quarter.

The Gamecocks’ defense also looked strong without its best player in injured middle linebacker Jasper Brinkley. Brinkley, who damaged a knee ligament in last week’s LSU defeat, had season-ending surgery this past Wednesday.

The Gamecocks gave up only 45 rushing by halftime in stopping Mississippi State (3-2, 1-2), which came to Williams-Brice Stadium with a three-game winning streak.

Mike Davis added two of his three rushing touchdowns (3, 2 and 12 yards) for South Carolina in the final quarter.

The Bulldogs looked like they had taken the game over in the third quarter. Anthony Dixon’s second TD run from 2 yards out put Mississippi State ahead 21-17. Then its defense held, forcing the Gamecocks into a missed 50-yard field goal try.

However, South Carolina defensive lineman Eric Norwood blocked Blake McAdams’ punt.

One play later, Smelley hit McKinley with a perfect throw and the junior wideout spun out of a tackle and into the end zone for the go-ahead score.

McKinley finished with four catches for 107 yards, his second game over 100 yards receiving this season.

Smelley was 19 of 37 with an interception. His previous high in yardage came last week with 174 yards in relief of Mitchell.

Dixon led the Bulldogs with 83 yards and his two rushing scores. Mississippi State didn’t do much through the air against the Gamecocks with 118 yards.

Quarterback Josh Riddell was 9 of 21 for 101 yards and an interception.

South Carolina figured to be tested on defense with standout linebacker Jasper Brinkley in a wheelchair after season-ending surgery on his knee.

Things seemed worse for the Gamecocks once the game began as leading rusher Cory Boyd grabbed his right knee after the first play and rolled around on the ground in pain. But after icing down the knee, and talking with coach Spurrier, Boyd returned to action later in the period.

He also figured in on one of Spurrier’s tricks right before halftime that put South Carolina out front.

Boyd took a flip from tight end Jared Cook after a completion from Smelley for 16 yards on third-and-20. On the next play, Ryan Succop hit a 45-yard field, his sixth straight this season, to send the Gamecocks into the break with the lead.

Boyd ended with 58 yards on 11 attempts. Davis went for 59 yards on 18 carries.

Clinton Emphasizes Shared Prosperity
Democratic Senator Denounces "On Your Own" Society; Touts "We're All In This Together"

(AP) Sen. Hillary Clinton outlined a broad economic vision on Tuesday, saying it's time to replace an "on your own" society with one based on shared responsibility and prosperity.

The Democratic presidential hopeful said what the Bush administration touts as an "ownership society" really is an "on your own" society that has widened the gap between rich and poor.

"I prefer a 'we're all in it together' society," she said. "I believe our government can once again work for all Americans. It can promote the great American tradition of opportunity for all and special privileges for none." That means pairing growth with fairness, she said, to ensure that the middle class succeeds in the global economy, not just corporate CEOs.

"There is no greater force for economic growth than free markets. But markets work best with rules that promote our values, protect our workers and give all people a chance to succeed," she said. "Fairness doesn't just happen. It requires the right government policies."

You see she wants the government to run and control your life. What idiot would agree with this but the politcally correct liberal democrats and moderates. She wants what you have to spread it around to the people who don't. This is like you working every day for the homeless who won't or can't work. She is a dangerous lying bitch! She says were all in this togeather but in truth its just her all in this togeather with ole slick willy.

Experts say terrorists eye your local school

In Iraq U.S. troops recovered floor plans for schools in Virginia, Texas and New Jersey from terrorist safe houses. In Afghanistan confiscated videotapes showed al-Qaeda terrorists practicing the takeover of a school. Terrorist cells inside the U.S. may be planning to use school buses as a sort of Trojan horse to infiltrate school campuses and kill innocent students and teachers. These terrorists mean business, but the liberal Democrat leaders would rather play partisan politics and appeasement than protect our country against the next deadly terrorist attack.

Recommendations:
The most effective deterrent to such attacks is to ensure there is an armed presence within every school. They recommend armed security as well as encouraging teachers and administrators to carry firearms.

"Even one or two armed teachers in a school can make a difference," says Grossman. "One man or woman with effective fire from behind cover inside the school can hold off a group of attackers for five minutes."

That could be enough time for police, or other help, to get to the scene.

They say it's also important to be vigilant in watching for reconnaissance efforts by terrorists. They will never attack a target without probing it first, say the experts. This could involve photographs and videotape.

In March, the FBI and Homeland Security Department distributed a bulletin to law enforcement across the country warning that Muslims with "ties to extremist groups" are signing up to be school bus drivers. They also noted "recent suspicious activity" by foreigners who either drive school buses or are licensed to drive them.FBI Bulletin about muslim bus drivers

"The enemy is infiltrating us at all levels, and certainly school bus drivers are one area to look at," warned Grossman, president of Killology Research Group, an anti-terror consultancy that trains the FBI and other law enforcement. "And how about high school, middle school and elementary school cafeteria workers? Janitors? Delivery people?" Anti Terrorist Group Info

Remember every muslim is not a terrorist but every terrorist IS A MUSLIM! or at least 99% are.

Thousands Rally for 'Jena 6' in Small Louisiana Town

"What we need is federal intervention to protect people from Southern injustice," Sharpton told the AP. "Our fathers in the 1960s had to penetrate the Kennedy and Johnson administrations; we have to do the same thing."

I agree that this doesn't pass the smell test but niether does the "rev" al sharpton We need to seek justice here but without the rev al sharptooth. He has no credibility, ie Rev Al's Background
We need federal intervention to protect us from the rev al and jessie jackass. Both are a joke. Both are hippocrates and charlatans..

A charlatan is a person practicing quackery or some similar confidence trick in order to obtain money or advantage by pretense.

The word comes from French charlatan, a seller of medicines who might advertise his presence with music and an outdoor stage show. The rev and jessie allways put stage shows on ie: the national media stage shows. Most of the time they take local problems and blow them up for the media to exploit for ad purposes. Fake news generation and reporting in the sense it is taken out of context most of the time and not all factual. Hype makes right, if the glove don't fit acquit etc, make it rime, make it ring, make it sing, do an oj sting!

Portrait of an IDIOT

TORONTO - Sean Penn made a disheartening discovery on his latest trip to Alaska this summer: Someone had walked off with a pair of boots that had sat in an old bus in the wilderness for almost 15 years.

What an idiot. He is more concerned with old boots than defending his own country. He is more concerned with defending hugo chavas. What a dope. He is just as stupid as the hillery clinton types who are just socialists. Just like a circus. They are recuiting clowns for the crowning of hillery, will you sign up? Go ahead why not?
Get you hand out. Remember you can't think or work for yourself so the hillery types will do it for you. You are to dumb to survive. You are like the homeless mentally. This means that you ain't got the good sense GOD gave you to get out of the way of a bus. You can't see that the bus is hillery and her gaggle of liars. You will get run over and wreck causing damage to rest of us. I think you are not capable of seeing the reality of the menace of hillery clinton. She will take advantage of you. She will cloak herself as a moderate. In reality she is a raging oj type. Her public picture is much different than who she really is. Think of it this way, we are being invited to a memorabelia sale(our country). We go and find after arriving we we duped and try to leave but it is too late, the election is over and the raging female is selling us down the river.

Stinky? It's not his sweat, it's your nose

Actually stink is stink. An example is a guy I know who sits in a certain chair, an every time leaves a big stink in it. It doesn't matter what kind of genes you have this stink would be the same, it permeates the chair and lingers because this guy is nasty. Other people say the same thing so maybe I should take a poll of some kind on the type of smell?

When it comes to a man's body odor, the fragrance -- or stench -- is in the nose of the beholder, according to U.S. researchers who suggest a single gene may determine how people perceive body odor.

The study, published online on Sunday in the journal Nature, helps explain why the same sweaty man can smell like vanilla to some, like urine to others and for about a third of adults, have no smell at all.

"This is the first time that any human odorant receptor is associated with how we experience odors," Hiroaki Matsunami of Duke University in North Carolina said in a telephone interview.

Matsunami and colleagues at Duke and Rockefeller University in New York focused on the chemical androstenone, which is created when the body breaks down the male sex hormone testosterone.

Androstenone is in the sweat of men and women, but it is more highly concentrated in men. How one perceives its smell appears to have a lot to do with variations in one odor receptor gene called OR7D4.

"It is well known that people have different perceptions to androstenone. But people didn't know what was the basis of it," Matsunami said.

To find out, researchers in Matsunami's lab tested sweat chemicals on most of the 400 known odor receptors used by the nose to sniff out smells and chemicals.

They found the OR7D4 gene reacted strongly with the sex steroid androstenone. Next, they tested whether variations in this gene had an impact on how people perceived the smell of androstenone in male sweat.

They took blood samples and sequenced the DNA of 400 people who participated in a smell perception test done in Leslie Vosshall's lab at Rockefeller.

What they found is slight genetic variations determine whether androstenone has a pungent smell, a sweet, vanilla-like smell or no smell at all.

The role of androstenone is not well understood in humans, but in pigs it sends a powerful sex signal that puts sows in the mood for love.

"It facilitates the courtship behavior in females," Matsunami said.

"There is some evidence published showing this chemical can modify the mood or hormone levels in humans," he said. "What we don't know is whether the receptor we found was in any way involved in this process."

He and colleagues will further study this aspect to understand how smelling these chemicals might affect human social and sexual behavior.

Arctic Meltdown Opens Fabled Northwest Passage

The ice melts out of Hudson Bay in early July and does not return till November. The 1000's of polar bears in the Hudson Bay region do just fine without it for a few months.

The natural variability of Greenland climate
For the arctic, we are talking about melting from mid-August to mid-September. Big deal, the Bears camp out on land for a month or two. Most females spend 1 year on land when they are ready to give birth.

The ice will refreeze in the arctic as soon as the 6 months of 24 darkness sets in on September 21 or 22 every year.

The average person will just absorb this global warming lie because of the picture and junk science used. (See note this below) The data is doctored to look like a dramatic change in the artic but in reality it is all man made global warming on paper. The data was skewed to result in a false model of artic ice melting. Keep in mind the ice in the arctic normally melts every year from mid aug to mid sep. Melting is normal for the arctic. Keep in mind the data is flawed and doctored to portray climate change, ie global warming. Climate change is normal, global warming does not exist.

A fabled sea route above North America linking the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans has become a reality thanks to global warming.

Scientists have confirmed that in August, Arctic sea ice shrank to its lowest levels since satellite measurements began monitoring the region nearly 30 years ago. One consequence of this is that the Northwest Passage has opened up much earlier than expected.

"We're several decades ahead of schedule right now," said Mark Serreze, a senior scientist at the University of Colorado's National Snow and Ice Data Center, which monitors the region.

The premature opening of the passage does not mean that climate models are unreliable, only that their predictions have been far too conservative, Serreze said. "They're getting the right trajectory, but they're too slow," he said.

NOTE THIS:

Arctic Sea Ice Continues Decline to Set New Records ?
The modern low was in 1961, after which it increased dramatically well into the satellite era. No it wasn't. A mistake was made in interpretation of a paper.

The sea ice extent chart from 1961 was in 100,000s of sq. kms versus 1,000,000 sq. kms in the rest of the paper and how the sea ice is always measured. It actually makes no sense to chart the ice in 100,000s of sq. kms because it can change by that much on a DAILY basis. The paper probably had an error on the axis title but I have no way of knowing that since it was produced in the 1970s.

On the other hand, the current sea ice record low could also be the result of an error since the NSIDC re-wrote the sea ice data so dramatically this January.
