Chicago radio host Eric 'Mancow' Muller claimed during an appearance on the Alex Jones Show Friday that actor Harry Lennix told him he was hired to train Barack Obama how to look and act presidential more than a decade before Obama was elected president.

Muller, who knew Obama in Chicago years before he was elected president, said on Alex Jones radio show that Lennix told him that, "He was the actor hired to teach Obama to be Harry Lennix, watch The Blacklist and you can see Obama, this is an actor that we hired to be our president."

Barack Obama is me, you’ve seen me on TV, you’ve seen me on movies, he is me."

Lennix said, "He mimicked me, he followed me for years, and they wanted me to train him and teach him how to act like an educated south side African-American."

Lennix said he thought Obama was "very stupid" and had "been taught to act like this."

If true, these startling claims would lend credence to the theory that Barack Obama was groomed and trained to become president for years.

No one could be basing their conclusion about him on the apparent fact that he’s an incompetent who happens to be black. No one could be thinking that his political agenda defines him and they oppose it. No one could possibly be opposed to him because his actions have directly effected their lives in a negative way (see ObamaCare), could they?

No all “everybody” ever thinks about is how black he is and how badly they hate him for that (never mind the cognitive dissonance that must exist in order to ignore his election and re-election and reach this conclusion).

This is what normally happens when one personally invests in a politician and has to find a way to excuse their miserable failure. Winfrey put a lot of personal capital on the line for Obama and essentially understands he’s failing but refuses to see the real reasons for why that’s happening. Instead she turns to the old and dependable habit of crying “race”.

I recently heard that dust allergy woes could be helped by the noble but misunderstood hookworm. Apparently the parasite has been shown to calm the immune system when certain allergens make it overenthusiastic.

Long afflicted with severe asthma and allergies, Lawrence heard hookworms offered relief and promptly decided to get some, for which purpose he journeyed in 2006 to the tropical African country of Cameroon, where hookworm is endemic. Because (a) infected humans excrete worm eggs in their feces and (b) the resulting larvae typically burrow in through their host’s skin, Lawrence spent two weeks walking barefoot around village latrines and hoped for the best.

On returning to the U.S., Lawrence noticed no change till the spring day he rolled down his car window. Normally he would have been overwhelmed with allergy symptoms; instead, nothing. Petting a cat, previously perilous, likewise had no effect. Concluding he was cured, Lawrence decided he needed to bring the gift of hookworms to his fellow sufferers and began selling hookworm treatment kits online at four grand a pop, using worms he'd cultivated internally. (He says they're sanitized before they're shipped.) When the Food and Drug Administration went after him, Lawrence took it on the lam, although he can still be reached through his site. Meanwhile, he's gotten coverage from ABC News, Discover, Observer, and of course NPR.

In case you're tempted, I need to emphasize that Lawrence isn't a doctor and has no research to prove his worms work. However, and here we get back to David Pritchard, it's not out of the question that hookworms and their parasitic kin, collectively known as helminths, might offer some protection again asthma, allergies, inflammatory bowel disease, and other immune disorders. While working in the tropics in the 1980s, Pritchard observed that hookworm sufferers rarely had such problems. He became a believer in the hygiene hypothesis, which holds that we in the developed world receive much less exposure to infectious agents than our ancestors did, so our immune systems don't develop properly. As a result they overreact to harmless stimuli, giving rise among other things to what's been described as an asthma epidemic. Epidemiological studies purport to show that allergies and asthma are less prevalent in rural societies than in cities, that children with intestinal parasites have less severe allergic reactions, and so on. Pritchard became particularly interested in hookworms and at one point deliberately infected himself with them.

All very interesting, if a bit gross, but two points need to be made. First, no one has demonstrated that filling somebody with worms is going to cure his asthma or anything else. Although helminths and the hygiene hypothesis have been debated for decades, clinical research has barely begun. I could find only a few studies, each involving a few dozen participants. In one, porcine whipworms supposedly relieved ulcerative colitis; in another, hookworms failed to significantly improve asthma compared to a placebo. Second, even if worms conferred some clinical benefits, they're still, let's face it, worms — ones that can cause anemia, stunted development, and sometimes death, making this a suboptimal therapeutic method.

That’s not to say using one affliction to cure or prevent another is inherently nuts, just that there may be an intervening step or two before we arrive at a practical technique. Consider the famous example of Edward Jenner, who infected people with cowpox to prevent smallpox. What’s little remembered now is that cowpox vaccination replaced variolation, in which people were purposely inoculated with smallpox scabs in hopes they'd get a mild form of the disease to prevent a later fatal case. The technique worked — 98 percent of those variolated became immune. The drawback was that one to two percent died.

Why doctors are treating allergies with parasitic worms

Researchers found that Papau villagers with more fertile parasites had lower levels of allergy-related antibodies in their blood, suggesting the hookworms had found a way to nerf their hosts' immune responses. Since allergic response is tied to the body's immune system, it stood to reason that the absence of autoimmune disorders like asthma and hay fever could be attributed to the hookworms; the parasite's survival response was actually benefitting its host, in one of the most roundabout ways imaginable.

"The allergic response evolved to help expel parasites, and we think the worms have found a way of switching off the immune system in order to survive," hypothesizes Pritchard in an interview with the New York Times. "That's why infected people have fewer allergic symptoms."

And Pritchard's hypothesis has been holding water, both in his own experiments as well as others. Symptoms from autoimmune disorders ranging from asthma to Crohn's disease have been shown to be noticeably reduced in study volunteers administered "safe doses" of hookworm therapy. Clinical trials that use hookworms to treat Multiple Sclerosis are slated to begin later this year.

"The challenge for those of us using necessarily lower levels of worm infection in humans is to mimic the positive effects seen in animal models using alternative and inherently safe strategies," writes Pritchard in a recent perspective on the potential benefits of hookworm infection, "such as boosting with low-level ‘trickle infection', as is likely to occur in the tropics [where hookworm infection is especially common]."

"This will be an interesting immunological journey, and early indications suggest that therapeutic dosing regimes can be developed."

On Wednesday, the Obama administration finally released its first numbers for Obamacare health insurance exchange enrollment dating from October 1 to October 31. The numbers were not pretty: just 106,185 people “selected a Marketplace plan” using the exchanges.

The federal health care exchange signed up less than 27,000 people. Meanwhile, nearly 7 million people are expected to lose the insurance plans President Obama said they could keep. So far, five million have lost their insurance.

The state numbers were far from encouraging. Overall, the states signed up 79,391 people.

The Department of Health and Human Services attempted to spin the numbers as a victory.

The guiding bird flies toward an occupied hive (Greater Honeyguides know the sites of many hives in their territories) and then stops and calls again. As in other situations, it spreads its tail, showing the white spots, and has a "bounding, upward flight to a perch", which make it conspicuous. If the followers are native honey-hunters, when they reach the hive they incapacitate the adult bees with smoke and open the hive with axes or pangas (machetes). After they take the honey, the honeyguide eats whatever is left.

One study found that use of honeyguides by the Boran people of East Africa reduces their search time for honey by approximately two-thirds. Because of this benefit, the Boran use a specific loud whistle, known as the fuulido, when a search for honey is about to begin. The fuulido doubles the encounter rate with honeyguides.

As WCBS 880’s Jim Smith reported Sunday, the U.S. Department of Agriculture only allowed chickens that had been processed in China to be sold in the U.S. Now, he said the USDA plans to green-light poultry raised and slaughtered in China.

China has a terrible record on health safety, and chickens are one of the things that need the most care and inspections,” he said.

China has been a massive source of food poisoning here in America for years.

A USDA report to Congress indicated aspects of the Chinese slaughter system to be equivalent to that of the U.S.

Rhode Island Red hen rapidly developed a strange walk. She walks very upright and her ankles stay straight, imagine a chicken "goosestepping." She is eating well, alert, and moving around. I don't know if she was injured of if this is some disease.

Have a roo that walks like that and his feet seem to be sore.image They also look a little reddish in between. Could this be a staph infection? Could be mites also.

You need to look at the feet good to see what they look like. Look for any scales that may be turned up and make sure they are clean. If they are turned up then it could be mites and rubbing the feet good with something to smoother the mites is what you need to do. I perfer soaking the feet and legs in mineral oil for 4-5 minutes but any petro jell will work also.

I think that almost everyone is aware that drinking red wine can help your heart stay healthy. You may have even used that little nugget of science to justify a glass or two. I have to admit, I never understood why grape juice didn’t have the same heart health benefits that wine does. And now a recent study reports that in terms of heart health, grape juice and wine are quite similar.

The study found that certain kinds of grape juice can have protective effects against heart disease – similar to those you get from red wine. The flavonoids found in both grape juice and wine prevent the oxidationof your “lousy” cholesterol. This helps prevent the build up of plaque in theartery walls.

The study also found that the heart health benefits of grape juice extend a bit further than wine. Grape juice lowers your risk of developing blood clots, which contribute to heart attacks and stroke. And while red wine does the same, it only does so when consumed in large quantities. So you have to be intoxicated to reap this benefit of wine.

Grape juice also improves the functioning of cells in the blood vessel linings, and its antioxidants stay in the system longer than the ones from wine. However, the alcohol in red wine has been found to increase “healthy” cholesterol levels in the body, a benefit that grape juice does not provide.

It is important to note that not all grape juice is created equal. Purple juices are richer in antioxidant flavonoids than red or white varieties. And eating grapes won’t give you the same benefit as drinking theirjuice. When grape juice is made, the entire grape, including the skin and seeds, is crushed. It is the grape seed that is particularly high in these heart healthy flavonoids.

Remember that juice is high in calories and that one serving is only four ounces. Many people pour themselves an eight ounce glass of juice without realizing that they are actually drinking two servings. Over consumption of high calorie beverages can contribute to weight gain.

General Motors had another disappointing month of sales for its much-hyped green wonder-car in October. Sales for the Chevy Volt plunged over 31 percent from last year, down to 2,022 units for the month. To put that number in perspective, Toyota sells that many Toyota Camrys in about two days. Or, GM is selling less than one Volt per Chevy dealership per month.

Despite the dismal sales figures, the loss to taxpayers for federal tax credits of $7,500 per vehicle that go to the wealthy buyers of Volts tallies out to $15,165,000 in October. If GM had come anywhere close to its initial lofty sales goals for President Obama's favorite car (remember, he's promised to buy one in three more years!) the tax bill would have been ten times the amount. I guess this is one instance where taxpayers can be thankful that GM's false hope for the Volt did not pan out.

The Volt is just far too expensive for many customers. The car gets about 94 miles per gallon, according to the EPA, but it starts at $39,195, and only upper-income buyers with a big tax bill can qualify for the $7,500 federal tax credit. As auto blogger Jonathan Welsh writes, “Even if you never used gasoline in the Volt, you’d wait about 12 years before you saved enough on gas to make up for the Volt’s price premium.” (The Volt has a gas engine that kicks in when the battery runs out.)

Rhe Volt is essentially a hybrid version of the Chevy Cruze, a compact car that gets around 40 miles per gallon but costs just half as much.

Corporate welfare on wheels, buying votes in a state vital to the President’s re-election. There is simply no way that GM can kill it.

Using conservative figures, the average Volt sits on the average dealer’s lot for 60 days.

Subsidizing well-off taxpayers. The Administration is doing everything it can to goose sales. The President’s new budget raises the subsidy paid to Volt buyers another 33%, to $10,000 per car in a direct tax credit. The median price of all the Volts on cars.com is $43,200. The average household income of Volt purchasers is in excess of $170,000, around the 93rd percentile. At the 28% tax bracket (married, filing jointly), this is equivalent to $36,000 of tax-free income. The car which is traded most for the Volt is none other than the Toyota Prius, which, according to most analyses, will not have been owned long enough to save in gas money the total premium paid for the car, compared to a comparable conventional vehicle.

Corporate cronyism and coercion. Last month, General Electric, whose CEO Jeffrey Immelt chairs the President’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness, announced that all 2012 sedans ordered by employees for corporate use will be Volts. That’s Competitive! Beginning next January 1, GE will not reimburse employees for any corporate travel unless it is done in a Volt. If GE purchases the 12,000 Volts it is committed to buying, it will get a $120 million subsidy.
