After he was through I talked with him about jobs. He said he had been looking for a job but could not get one. I suspected it was because of some problem in the past. I noted he was dressed in pants that droop in the back like I see many black people wear. I ask him how old he was. To my surprise he said he was 40 years old. I though 40 years old and dressed like a kid no wonder you can't find a job. I later found out that he did have a good job until he started selling drugs and got a record. I asked myself how many people like this guy are on welfare because they messed their life up. I suspect many. IRS scrutiny went beyond Tea Party, targeting of conservatives also.

An IRS campaign to apply additional scrutiny to conservative groups went beyond targeting "Tea Party" and "patriot" groups to include those focused on government spending, the Constitution and several other broad areas.

The additional guidelines created by the agency were part of a timeline, obtained by Fox News, from the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration, which is looking into the controversial IRS practice. IRS officials apologized Friday for the scrutiny, but new information suggests senior leaders were apprised of the effort as early as 2011 despite public denials from the top.

Republican lawmakers have vowed to investigate and hold hearings, calling the revelations deeply troubling.

"The conclusion that the IRS came to is that they did have agents who were engaged in intimidation of political groups," Michigan Rep. Mike Rogers told "Fox News Sunday." "I don't care if you're a conservative, a liberal, a Democrat or a Republican, this should send a chill up your spine. It needs to have a full investigation."

The internal IG timeline shows a unit in the agency was looking at Tea Party and "patriot" groups dating back to early 2010. But it shows that list of criteria drastically expanding by the time a June 2011 briefing was held. It then included groups focused on government spending, government debt, taxes, and education on ways to "make America a better place to live." It even flagged groups whose file included criticism of "how the country is being run."

By early 2012, the criteria were updated to include organizations involved in "limiting/expanding government," education on the Constitution and Bill of Rights, and social economic reform.

Taken together, the findings of the IG and the initial admissions by the IRS Friday are fueling complaints from Republicans on Capitol Hill.

Evidence that the IRS was flagging such groups in 2011 was included in a draft inspector general's report obtained Saturday by Fox News and other news organizations and expected to be released in full later this week.

That information seemingly contradicts public statements by IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman, who told congressional investigators in March 2011 that specific groups were not being targeted.

Maine Republican Sen. Susan Collins on Sunday also called the IRS activities chilling and said she was disappointed that President Obama had not condemned the actions.

"This is truly outrageous and it contributes to the profound distrust that the American people have in government," Collins told CNN's "State of the Union." "It is absolutely chilling that the IRS was singling out conservative groups for extra review. And I think that it's very disappointing that the president hasn't personally condemned this."

At about the same time, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney released a statement saying: "If the inspector general finds that there were any rules broken or that conduct of government officials did not meet the standards required of them, the president expects that swift and appropriate steps will be taken to address any misconduct."

Michigan Republican Rep. Dave Camp, chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, said Friday his committee will hold a hearing on the issue.

The IRS said Friday that it was sorry for what it called the "inappropriate" targeting of the conservative groups during the 2012 elections.

Lois G. Lerner, who heads the IRS division that oversees tax-exempt organizations, said the practice was initiated by low-level workers in Cincinnati and was not motivated by political bias.

But on June 29, 2011, Lerner found out that such groups were being targeted, according to the inspector general's report.

She was told at a meeting that groups with "Tea Party," "Patriot" or "9/12 Project" in their names were being flagged for additional and often burdensome scrutiny, the report states.

The 9/12 Project is a group started by conservative TV personality Glenn Beck.

Collins also said she does not believe the activity was limited to "a couple of rogue IRS employees."

"After all," she added, "groups with `progressive' in their names were not targeted similarly."

Cell Phone Addiction And Nomophobia

Think you’re addicited to your smartphone? Turns out that cellphone addiction might be contagious.

According to a new study conducted by the University of Michigan, people are more likely to pull out their phone when someone around them does the same.

In the study, researchers watched groups of students, documenting their cellphone use every 10 seconds. Overall, students were on their phones 24% of the time they spent with a friend, and were 39.5% more likely to use their phone when the person they were sitting with had done so in the previous 10-second interval.

Researcher Daniel Kruger said he believes the pattern may be attributed to social inclusion. If the person you’re sitting with is checking Twitter or texting other friends, then you're likely to do so as well in order to avoid feeling excluded.

That effect is intensified in younger adults who might habitually check their phones. When those who are already addicted to their phones use the devices while spending time with others, cellphone usage increases even more.

Researchers said the results could differ slightly in older adults who don’t use their phones as often.

Nomophobia is used to describe the intense anxiety some individuals experience at losing, or the thought of losing, their cell phone. In 2008, the U.K. survey concluded that 13% of the sample surveyed suffered from nomophobia. A follow-up survey conducted last year finds that the rate has risen up to 66% of those surveyed.

“We tell patients we’re going to remove their phone for an extended period of time, usually at least the first 10 days if they are in an inpatient program, because they need to be less distracted by external communication,” says Waterman…”

Waterman suggests that people with less serious cases of nomophobia try these strategies:

Become self-aware and monitor the frequency with which you check your phone.
Commit to putting your phone down and turning it off for a specific amount of time while you focus on other priorities such as your relationships, exercise or meditation.

If you feel anxious or have an urgent need to check your phone, try using healthy coping skills such as deep breathing, redirecting your attention to the people around you or busying yourself with exercise.
Ask other people to help you by taking your phone away for specific time periods.
"If you can't let go of your phone, then this could be a sign that your life is out of balance, but there's nothing wrong with using your phone a lot as long as that's not causing you any problems," Waterman says.

“Excessive use of mobile phones can lead to headache, sleep disturbance, lack of concentration, memory loss, tinnitus (ringing in the ears) and increased risk of brain cancer,” Hasanuzzaman said adding that mobile towers in the neighbourhood can also cause various health problems including severe headache, sleep disturbance, body pain and memory loss. “The more severe health effects as a result of the excessive use of mobile phones include infertility, miscarriage, neurodegenerative disorders, heart problems and cancer,” he added.
Children are more vulnerable due to their developing immune system and thinner skulls which allow radiation to penetrate deeper. Women also run the risk of health problems like hormonal imbalances, miscarriages, breast and ovarian cancer, as they spend more time at home speaking on mobile phones and get exposed to radiation, medical experts said.

Lots of cultural writing these days, in books and magazines and newspapers, relies on the so-called Chump Effect. The Effect is defined by its discoverer, me, as the eagerness of laymen and journalists to swallow whole the claims made by social scientists. Entire journalistic enterprises, whole books from cover to cover, would simply collapse into dust if even a smidgen of skepticism were summoned whenever we read that “scientists say” or “a new study finds” or “research shows” or “data suggest.” Most such claims of social science, we would soon find, fall into one of three categories: the trivial, the dubious, or the flatly untrue.

A example of this third option emerged last month when an internationally renowned social psychologist, Diederik Stapel of Tilburg University in the Netherlands, was proved to be a fraud. No jokes, please: This social psychologist is a fraud in the literal, perhaps criminal, and not merely figurative, sense.

An investigative committee concluded that Stapel had falsified data in at least “several dozen” of the nearly 150 papers he had published in his extremely prolific career.

Perhaps “falsified” is too mild a word. Stapel didn’t just tweak and twist numbers, he made stuff up. With his colleagues, Science Insider reported, “he would discuss in detail experimental designs, including drafting questionnaires, and would then claim to conduct the experiments at high schools and universities with which he had special arrangements. The experiments, however, never took place.” Questionnaires are the mother’s milk of social science, given (most often) to collections of students who are easily accessible to the scientist. After being rewarded with course credits or money, the students go on to serve as proxies for humanity in general, as the scientist draws from their questionnaires large conclusions about the way human nature compels us, all of us, to think and act.

The conclusions that Stapel drew were large indeed. One thing he liked to demonstrate in his studies was the exploitive nature of democratic capitalism. Last year, the New York Times reported on a typical Stapel study, called “The Self-Activation Effect of Advertisements.” It proved that advertising for cosmetics and fancy shoes “makes women feel worse about themselves,” as the Times put it. Another study, released at the end of the scandal-ridden year 2009, was called “Power Increases Hypocrisy.” Quite a timely little study it was. Stapel and his colleagues’ research revealed that powerful people were more likely to be “moral hypocrites.” And which powerful people did the researchers have in mind? “Politicians [who] use public funds for private benefits while calling for smaller government” and CEOs “accepting executive bonuses while simultaneously asking for government bailouts.”

Both of these studies purported to employ the usual social-psychology method: Students in psychology or marketing classes were asked to “role-play” or perform some artificial task under the observation of graduate students. Then they’d fill out those questionnaires to report their thoughts or feelings.

Sometimes, though, social psychologists move beyond the lab. A good example is a more recent study from Stapel’s corpus, released last spring to wide publicity. It touched on another of Stapel’s favorite themes: white racism.

“Disorder can encourage stereotyping, study says,” read the headline in the Los Angeles Times. Stapel discovered—scientifically, of course—that white heterosexuals used racism and homophobia as defense mechanisms. Confronted with disorder in their “social environment,” Stapel showed, they quickly reverted to their natural inclination to stereotype “the other” and draw comfort from their prejudice.

At this writing, investigators are not yet clear to what extent the results of these particular studies are discredited by Stapel’s fakery. And nobody knows how extreme an anomaly Stapel’s behavior will prove to be.

Leslie John of Harvard Business School recently surveyed more than 2,000 social psychologists about their research methods. She found a rash of research practices she deemed “questionable.” Indeed, she wrote, in social psychology, “some questionable practices may constitute the prevailing research norm.”

The most common working premise of social-psychology research is far-fetched all by itself: The behavior of a statistically insignificant, self-selected number of college students or high schoolers filling out questionnaires and role-playing in a psych lab can reveal scientifically valid truths about human behavior.

Could the "Red Dawn" Type Of Scenario Actually Occur?

The simple matter of fact is that China is a super weapon.

All of these hackers that are part of Lulzsec, Anonymous ,ect. are part of the Chinese governments attempt to find any all weak points in the defense infrastructure of the worlds Internet. Such groups often make their claims of attacking websites to find vulnerabilities that can then be exploited in a mass cyber-attack.

Since the U.S. Government does maintain links to every single server and Internet connection in America but cannot maintain surveillance on each system but has to randomly surveil various grids on a monthly basis a coordinated attack by Chinese cyber-terrorists could implant viruses that would self propogate within the server network to launch continual DDOS attacks. Such a DDOS attack would randomly occur in one server turn itself off after a set time and launch an attack elsewhere. These DDOS attack programs would remain in the computer and server and would build upon one another to the point of each network and server receiving multiple DDOS attacks across the net. Even if one network was shut down and another network accessed the propogating DDOS worm would infect the PC as soon as it made the connection to the new network thus spreading the virus to the new server which would then propogate back to the user PC thus creating a permanent DDOS attack that would bounce around the entire network.

The Chinese have over 1 million members in there military that are trained in the cyber arts to create such a virus.

With most of America's intelligence and communication coming in the form of an Internet connection of one type or the other such an attack would cripple Americas ability to launch a counter-strike against a Chinese invasion that would first come by air and then by sea.

Fox News Exposes the 17 Foiled “Terrorist” Plots Created by the FBI

Fox News reporter talks about the 17 terrorist plots that the FBI claims they foiled since 9/11. And he goes over the fact that they were all PLANNED by the FBI so they could foil them. He then goes on to show that this recent alegation against the Iranian government is the exact same kind of operation set up by the FBI with an informant who was facing serious criminal charges acting as the middle man (as is usually the case in each of the 17 previous “terrorist” plots)

Boston Marathon eyewitness Alastair Stevenson confirmed a bomb drill at the boston marathon and revealed what he saw. This is not being reported by the "state run media".

An event as large as the Boston Marathon is almost impossible to keep entirely secure. When you have a venue like this that's wide open, you really rely a lot on the public. (But where the bombs went off at the finish line is was possible to secure this area but it was not, why?)

In a fenced-in area, and you have egress and ingress points, so baggages are checked -- backpacks, purses, people carrying duffel bags -- all that can be checked if necessary.

Some people will respond to the Boston bombings with an over-reaction. Not only will they worry, overly, about travel, foreign and domestic. They will now wonder whether it's safe to go out into public at all, to a sporting event, to a restaurant, to anywhere. It's what the psychologists call agoraphobia - fear of the marketplace. And if we succumb as a nation to that disease, yes, the terrorists - whomever the Boston bomb-setters turn out to be - will have won.
