Congressman Jeff Duncan Encourages Magpul to Relocate to South Carolina

Washington, DC—Congressman Jeff Duncan has invited another firearms company to relocate to South Carolina to avoid what he describes as an “anti-gun and anti-gun owner” climate coming from some state governments. On Tuesday, Duncan wrote Magpul’s COO, Doug Smith, to invite the company to consider moving its operations to South Carolina.

Magpul Industries Corp., located in Erie Colorado, has vowed to leave the state if lawmakers pass a bill banning high-capacity magazines. Magpul was founded in 1999, and has a diverse product line ranging from sights and grips, to magazines and iphone cases. Currently, the company employs around 200 workers in their facility and over 400 suppliers and contractors.

On Monday, the Colorado House of Representatives passed the anti-gun measure, prompting Magpul to warn legislators that passage of the bill would “harm the rights of law abiding citizens, and drive jobs out of the state while doing nothing to improve public safety.”

“South Carolina would welcome Magpul with open arms,” said Rep. Duncan. “In South Carolina, we believe in the Second Amendment. We believe in free enterprise. We believe in the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Our state welcomes any individual or business who believes the same.”

Last month, Congressman Duncan sent a similar letter encouraging George Kollitides, the CEO of the parent company for Remington Arms, to consider relocating the company’s New York production facilities to South Carolina.

Members of the South Carolina business community were thrilled by the Congressman’s announcement.

Ronnie Hall, President of the Daucusville Business Association said “I appreciate Congressman Duncan’s leadership in encouraging businesses like Remington and Magpul to relocate to South Carolina. We strongly support the Second Amendment, and would welcome these respectable businesses to relocate to our state.”

Congressman Jeff Duncan Letter to Magpul Industries

(If you want a clip that is fool proof this is it. I suggest buying 6 or more. Obama and his fellow traitors want to ban these in the near future. Congressman Jeff Duncan gets it right. Obama and his fellow traitors will continue to do all they can to disarm Americans and leave them defenseless. I've seen them sell for 30 to 40 in SC. They are worth the cost. I'm sure Jeff Duncan owns several.) Story Reports

Magpul standing firm on threat to leave Colorado if gun bill passes

Magpul standing firm on threat to leave Colorado if gun bill passes

An amendment to one of four gun bills being debated by the Colorado legislature isn't enough to keep a maker of firearms accessories in the state, top management told U.S. Rep. Cory Gardner during a tour Thursday.

Gardner, R-Yuma, and state Sen. Vicki Marble, R-Fort Collins, toured Magpul Industries Corp., watching as workers prepared and assembled ammunition magazines, firearms accessories and other products ranging from dog leashes to smartphone cases.

Magpul has threatened to leave Colorado if the legislature passes and Gov. John Hickenlooper signs gun bills that include one that would limit the capacity of ammunition magazines that can be sold and possessed in the state.

An amendment attached to that bill before it cleared the House in a floor vote this week would allow manufacturers of magazines that hold more than 15 rounds to make them in Colorado and sell them elsewhere.

But Magpul officials told Gardner, Marble and state Rep. Lori Saine — a Dacono Republican who joined the others after they had completed the Magpul plant tour — that the amendment wouldn't be enough to prompt the company to stay in this state if the bill becomes law.

Earnest T Bass defensive weapon in a gun free zone

Earnest T. Bass defending himself in a "gun free zone"

.......................................

Guns Don't Kill People, But 'Gun-Free Zones' Do.

When an owner of a property posts their property as a Gun Free Zone, they imply that they will take on the responsibility for the personal self defense of persons who enter that property.

Gun-free zones have been the most popular response to previous mass killings. But many law-enforcement officials say they are actually counterproductive. "Guns are already banned in schools. That is why the shootings happen in schools. A school is a 'helpless-victim zone,'" says Richard Mack, a former Arizona sheriff.

"Preventing any adult at a school from having access to a firearm eliminates any chance the killer can be stopped in time to prevent a rampage," Jim Kouri, the public-information officer of the National Association of Chiefs of Police, said earlier this year at the time of the Aurora, Colo., Batman-movie shooting.

Indeed, there have been many instances — from the high-school shooting by Luke Woodham in Mississippi, to the New Life Church shooting in Colorado Springs, Colo. — where a killer has been stopped after someone got a gun from a parked car or elsewhere and confronted the shooter.

Economists John Lott and William Landes conducted a groundbreaking study in 1999, and found that a common theme of mass shootings is that they occur in places where guns are banned and killers know everyone will be unarmed, such as shopping malls and schools.

The noted that the Aurora shooter, who killed 12 people earlier this year, had a choice of seven movie theaters that were showing the Batman movie he was obsessed with.

All were within a 20-minute drive of his home. The Cinemark Theater the killer ultimately chose wasn't the closest, but it was the only one that posted signs saying it banned concealed handguns carried by law-abiding individuals.

All of the other theaters allowed the approximately 4 percent of Colorado adults who have a concealed-handgun permit to enter with their weapons.

(Its obvious a "gun free zone" is a "killing field" for any criminal. The fact that the government would leave you defenseless in a gun free zone makes them no different than the criminal who takes advantage of "gun free zones" to kill at will. The 2nd amendment gives every American the right to defend themselves against CRIMINALS!) Story Reports

Various businesses send a strong and clear message to government

........................................
Various businesses have realized the absurdity of state and federal governments rushing to demonize virtually all gun-owners in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook tragedy, and several have used the opportunity to send a strong and clear message to legislators seeking to eviscerate the Second Amendment.

A Virginia pizza shop is doing its part to uphold the Second Amendment and private gun rights by offering discounts to patrons who present concealed carry permits or visit the eatery possessing visible firearms.

ALL COUPONS WITH THE EXPIRATION DATE OF 1/31/2013 WILL BE EXTENDED TO 3/31/2013!
According to their website, the All Around Pizza and Deli shop in Virginia Beach is offering a 15 percent discount for customers who “show us you carry openly or show us a concealed weapons permit.”

..............................

But some companies have not been as accommodating of gun rights advocates.

Internet deal giant Groupon.com canceled a Texas gun shop’s deal on concealed handgun courses.

According to Central Texas Gun Works owner Michael Cargill, after pressuring him to increase the threshold of his Groupon offer, a representative for Groupon called him back and said that their CEO had “decided to suspend all gun deals, anything having to do with guns, gun training, shooting clays, gun ranges; they suspended all gun deals.”

Cargill labeled Groupon’s actions “a direct attack on lawful gun ownership” and called for a boycott of the company, saying it is “an organization that clearly has no respect for those of us who, whether for recreation or personal protection, choose to exercise their constitutional right.”

(This is a great idea and a good way for citizens to show their support for businesses that know the 2nd amendment is the only thing keeping obama and his fellow comrads from doing anything they want with Americans. I would like to see this done on a national basis.) Story Reports

Without bullets a gun is just a paper weight

.................................
Jim Kouri, CPP, the fifth Vice President and Public Information Officer of the National Association of Chiefs of Police

“Gun control fanatics, frustrated in their attempts to impose severely restrictive regulations on the gun rights of law-abiding American citizens, apparently think that if they push severe restrictions on ammunition acquisition and possession, they’ll come closer to their objective of restricting if not eliminating the individual Second Amendment civil right to keep and bear arms,” says John M. Snyder, known as “Washington’s senior gun rights activist.”

If they can’t control guns, well, they’ll just control the sale of ammunition,” he added.

.........................................

While a federal law is being considered by proponents of such laws, gun owners in individual states are witnessing what’s referred to as Ammunition Accountability Acts being pushed through they’re state legislatures by impatient lawmakers.

.........................................

Ammunition Accountability, a liberal gun control organization, has developed sample legislation to achieve its purposes and reports that versions of it have been introduced in the legislatures of Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee and Washington, according to John Snyder.

.........................................

Ammunition Accountability, a liberal gun control organization says current technology for matching a bullet used in a crime to the gun that fired it has worked moderately well for years, but presupposes that the weapon was recovered by law enforcement;” and “bullet coding is a new and effective way for law enforcement to quickly identify persons of interest in gun crime investigations.”

........................................

In addition to the problem of ammunition scarcity, gun owners must contend with rising prices making it more costly to visit firing ranges. There are even retailers who are limiting the number of boxes a buyer may purchase. As a result, buyers are searching for gun stores that will allow them to purchase cases of ammo to be stockpiled in their homes.

Guns And Ammo Production Maxed Out: “This is a Society Preparing For War”

Why are Americans scrambling to purchase guns and ammunition in record numbers?

Many say it’s their fear of the political climate in the United States.

Jan Norton, a teacher in New Jersey and lifelong target shooter, believes it started with the report issued by the Homeland Security Department identifying pro-life, pro-gun, anti-government Americans as potential terrorists.

“While the Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano backed away from that report, there are others who’ve contributed to increasing the fears of law-abiding citizens who happen to have conservative or libertarian political views,” she said.

.........................................

In an unclassified report entitled “Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment,” Napolitano and her agency included the following description of “extremists:”

“Rightwing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, movements, and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups), and those that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.

Info Wars

Guns and ammo industry report indicates that every major gun and ammunition manufacturer in the country is running at 100% capacity, with many so far behind that they’ve stopped taking new orders altogether.

Smith & Wesson-is running at Full capacity making 300+ guns/day-mainly M&P pistols. They are unable to produce any more guns to help with the shortages.

RUGER: Plans to increase from 75% to 100% in the next 90 days.

FNH: Moving from 50% production to 75% by Feb 1st and 100% by March 1. Remington-Maxed out!

Armalite: Maxed out.

DPMS: Can’t get enough parts to produce any more product.

COLT: Production runs increasing weekly…bottle necked by Bolt carrier’s.

LWRC:Making only black guns, running at full capacity…can’t get enough gun quality steel to make barrels.

Springfield Armory: Only company who can meet demand but are running 30-45 days behind.

AMMO: Every caliber is now Allocated! We are looking at a nation wide shortage of all calibers over the next 9 months. All plants are producing as much ammo as possible w/ of 1 BILLION rounds produced weekly. Most is military followed by L.E. and civilians are third in line.

(This explains why you can't find ammo! The government has purchased billions of rounds. "law enforcement" has purchased billions or millions of rounds. Citizens have purchased billions or millions of rounds. There has been a "run" on ammo from the average citizen waking up and realizing obama is about to either restirct their guns or ammo!

Now the ammo manufacturers are allocating production to the military first, law enforement second and the average citizen third.

THIS IS WHY YOU CAN'T FIND THE AMMO YOU WANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) (Gun shows still have ammo and guns but the price will be much higher. If you don't own a gun my advice is to buy one. If you do own a gun I suggest you buy an adequate amount of ammo to defend yourself and i'm not just talking about defending yourself against local criminals! Story Reports

MAGPUL is behind 1 MILLION mags, do not expect any large quantities of magpul anytime soon.

RELOADERS… ALL Remington, Winchester, CCI & Federal primers are going to ammo FIRST. There are no extra’s for reloading purposes… it could be 6-9 months before things get caught up. Sorry for the bleak news, but now we know what to expect in the coming months.

.........................................

Many who have exercised their Second Amendment protections are first time buyers concerned with Federal and State gun grabs being spearheaded by politicians who are using the Sandy Hook school shooting as a pretext to restrict access to personal defense rifles, larger capacity magazines, and even ammunition.

But this may only be a part of why there’s so much demand. There are millions of Americans who are genuinely concerned with not just the government taking their guns, but all of their other Constitutionally protected freedoms as well.

Manufacturers were running full-bore, but couldn’t come close to keeping up with market demand.

It wasn’t just the AR-15s, the AK-pattern rifles, the M1As, and the FALs that were sold out. It really hit me when I realized that the World War-era M1 Garands, M1 carbines, and Enfield .303s were gone, along with every last shell. Ubiquitous Mosin-Nagants—of which every gun store always seems to have 10-20—were gone. So was their ammo. Only a dust free space marked their passing. I’ve never seen anything like it.

This isn’t a society stocking up on certain guns because they fear they may be banned. This is a society preparing for war.
