The Obama administration pledged Thursday December 24, 2009 to provide unlimited financial assistance to mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, an eleventh-hour move that allows the government to exceed the current $400 billion cap on emergency aid without seeking permission from a bailout-weary Congress.
The Christmas Eve announcement by the Treasury Department means that it can continue to run the companies, which were seized last year, as arms of the government for the rest of President Obama's current term.
But even as the administration was making this open-ended financial commitment, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac disclosed that they had received approval from their federal regulator to pay $42 million in Wall Street-style compensation packages to 12 top executives for 2009.
The compensation packages, including up to $6 million each to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac's chief executives, come amid an ongoing public debate about lavish payments to executives at banks and other financial firms that have received taxpayer aid. But while many firms on Wall Street have repaid the assistance, there is no prospect that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will do so.
The administration faced a congressionally mandated deadline of Dec. 31 to increase the amount of aid it could provide to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, which together have already received $111 billion in assistance.

The Turning Point of the US Congress manufactured "financial crisis" that Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Christopher Dodd caused came by protecting Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. These corrupt traitors received mind-boggling levels of financial support from them over the years.
Back in 2005 legislative momentum emerged for an attempt to create a ``world-class regulator'' that would oversee the pair more like banks, imposing strict requirements on their ability to take excessive risks. Politicians who previously had associated themselves proudly with the two accounting miscreants were less eager to be associated with them. The time was ripe to do something to stop the crisis dodd, barney frank and other fellow democrates had created.
The clear gravity of the situation pushed the legislation forward. Some might say the current mess couldn't be foreseen, yet in 2005 Alan Greenspan told Congress how urgent it was for it to act in the clearest possible terms: If Fannie and Freddie ``continue to grow, continue to have the low capital that they have, continue to engage in the dynamic hedging of their portfolios, which they need to do for interest rate risk aversion, they potentially create ever-growing potential systemic risk down the road,'' he said. ``We are placing the total financial system of the future at a substantial risk.''
What happened next was extraordinary. For the first time in history, a serious Fannie and Freddie reform bill was passed by the Senate Banking Committee. The bill gave a regulator power to crack down, and would have required the companies to eliminate their investments in risky assets.
If that bill had become law, then the world today would be different. In 2005, 2006 and 2007, a blizzard of terrible mortgage paper fluttered out of the Fannie and Freddie clouds, burying many of our oldest and most venerable institutions. Without their checkbooks keeping the market liquid and buying up excess supply, the market would likely have not existed.
But the bill didn't become law, for a simple reason: Democrats and a few Republicans opposed it on a party-line vote in the committee, signaling that this would be a partisan issue. Republicans, tied in knots by the tight Democratic opposition, couldn't even get the Senate to vote on the matter.
Now that the collapse has occurred, the roadblock built by Senate Democrats in 2005 is unforgivable. Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Christopher Dodd among others.
These people had the power to stop the manufactured crisis they had created in the first place by allowing Fannie MAe and Freddie Mac to go unregulated. Now that our attention is focused on airline security measures thanks to the failed airline attack on Christmas Day, it's worth mentioning that one senator took money away from aviation security to line the pockets of a constituency that supported his presidential campaign in a big way.
Back in July, Senator Chris Dodd, D-Conn., proposed an amendment reducing aviation security appropriations by $4.5 million in favor of firefighter grants -- a notoriously inneffective program. In fact, the money was specifically "for screening operations and the amount for explosives detection systems." The amendment was also sponsored by Sen. Lieberman, D-Conn., and Sen. Carper, D-Del., but Dodd deserves to be singled out here because the firefighters union is a pet constituency of his. In 2007 he campaigned all through Iowa with the firefighters union. It was one of the few distinguishable features of Dodd's ill-fated presidential bid.
The text of the amendment is below:
(Purpose: To provide additional funds for FIRE grants under section 33 of the Federal Fire Prevention and Control Act of 1974)
On page 77, between lines 16 and 17, insert the following:
SEC. X (a) The amount appropriated under the heading "firefighter assistance grants'' under the heading "Federal Emergency Management Agency'' under by title III for necessary expenses for programs authorized by the Federal Fire Prevention and Control Act of 1974 is increased by $10,000,000 for necessary expenses to carry out the programs authorized under section 33 of that Act (15 U.S.C. 2229).
(b) The total amount of appropriations under the heading "Aviation Security'' under the heading "Transportation Security Administration'' under title II, the amount for screening operations and the amount for explosives detection systems under the first proviso under that heading, and the amount for the purchase and installation of explosives detection systems under the second proviso under that heading are reduced by $4,500,000.
(c) From the unobligated balances of amounts appropriated before the date of enactment of this Act for the appropriations account under the heading "state and local programs'' under the heading "Federal Emergency Management Agency'' for "Trucking Industry Security Grants'', $5,500,000 are rescinded.

He says he was born in Hawaii. He will not provide the long form "certificate of live birth" from Hawaii to prove it. The certification of live birth on file in Hawaii indicates his race, his mothers and fathers names and signatures, the doctors name and signature, the hospital name and the offical registrar's signature.
The short form "certification of live birth" does not indicate his mothers or fathers signatures. It does not indicate the doctors name or signature. It does not indicate the hospital. It does not indicate the registrar's official signature. There is No Offical signature on the form obama has posted on the web.
Any and all the information that is on the original long form "certificate of live birth" in Hawaii could have been changed.
Obama could have changed his name, his sex, his date of birth, his mothers and fathers name and place of birth. The short form "certification of live birth" is an AMMENDED "birth certificate".
Obama says he was born in Hawaii. No one can verify this because the original could have been generated a year or more after he was born according to Hawaiian law. look it up.
The original could have been generated if obama was born in Kenya or anywhere else outside the US.
All that was needed was a relative and some simple documentation for Hawaiian officials to issue an "Hawwain birth certificate".
Obama's certificate is what the Hawaii DOH calls a "Late" Certificate of Birth, and it is not an original Birth Certificate for a birth recorded near the date of actual birth. In Hawaii, anyone can claim they were born there and submit the evidence years after the birth to obtain a late "Certificate of Birth".
"Who is Eligible to Apply for Late Registration? As provided by law (HRS §§338-15, 338-29.5), the following persons may apply for late registration: Any person born in Hawaii who is one year old or older and whose birth has not been previously registered in Hawaii, or that person’s parent, guardian, next of kin, or older person acting for that person and having knowledge of the facts of birth may request the registration of a late certificate of birth.
Wo ccould have applied for obama's fake birth "certification of live birth under Hawaiian law (HRS §§338-15, 338-29.5), a guardian.
(A guardian is someone who has been legally appointed to look after the affairs of another person, for example a child or someone who is mentally ill.)
(Next of kin is sometimes used to refer to the person who is your closest relative, especially in official or legal documents.)
(Older person, (adult), acting for that person and having knowledge of the facts of birth.)
So just about anyone even me could have requested an "after the fact" "birth certificate".
NO one can refute this. Its is Hawaiian law (HRS §§338-15, 338-29.5).
